I have ever seen, the previous owner was an electronics engineer
and has fitted an elaborate drive system which works like a dream.

Parkson No1 Universal Mill

This machine as you can see is set up for spiral milling, with the
dividing head driven from the table powerfeed. The machine has the
swivel vertical head, horizontal overarm, with support brackets,
swivelling table, coolant supply.

240 volt single phase supply

The easy answer to using 3 phase machinery
in the single phase workshop

240 volt single phase input, 240 volt and 415 volt
3 phase output,
suitable for all machinery with 3 phase motors.

Dual voltage motors are motors that can be changed over
simply in the terminal box to operate on either
240 volt 3 phase or 415 volt 3 phase
(It will state this clearly on the motor plate)
Inverters for dual voltage motors are cheaper

Inverters with 415 volt output also available

Most modern motors are suitable

These inverters allow full direct control of the motor
and all of its operating characteristics...........
start up, build up of speed, variation of speed,
motor overload protection and braking.

If you have an 8 speed gearbox you will have
variable speeds in between each gear
or right through the range
No need to rewire the machines electrics to suit
as you can connect direct to the motor terminals

A very compact lathe, this is the top of the range HBX model, 360mm swing over bed,
5 morse taper to the capstan style tailstock, Anilam Spirit 2, two axis digital readout,
screw cutting and powerfeeds to the carriage and crosside,
it has the most comprehensive screwcutting range that I have ever seen on any lathe.
with 120 metric pitches and 60 imperial pitches, with micro adjustable stops on the crosslide to
enable fine depth of cut control when threading, fully variable speed control through 4 ranges
from 50 rpm right up to 3000 rpm, 2 chuck guards and a rear splash guard (not seen in photo) bed stop,
